Please make sure your child brings their reading books in to school everyday. Thank you.
Please make sure your child has a pair of wellies that can be left at school along with a named water bottle (containing only water) and warm coat. We highly recommend waterproof coats, even all in one splash suits as we are outside in all weathers and the children have the opportunity to play in the 'Mud Kitchen'!
The children will be doing PE on Wednesday mornings this half term. Please make sure they have a named PE kit and named clothes!
We hope you have had an amazing May half term holiday and the children are ready for an exciting half term!
The children have had an extremely fun and busy first half of the Summer term. They have learnt so much in such a short period of time! We look forward to carrying on their learning into the Summer term with lots planned. They have enjoyed Science week where they got to make slime and sherbet and have visited Tesco's in Sandy to see what happens behind the scene!
This term our topic is 'Down on the Farm'. The children will be making tractors and finding out about lots of different aspects of farm life. If you have any resources at home that would support this topic we would appreciate any donations!
This term we will be consolidating the children's knowledge of the 42 graphemes and move onto the teaching of Phase 4. In Phase 4 the children will learn to read and spell words with adjacent consonants like trap, string and milk. They will also continue to read and spell tricky words.
Look out for the stickers in the children's reading diaries which give detailed information about which sounds we have learnt each week along with words the children can practice reading and writing which incorporate those sounds. Please hear you child read at home as often as you can and initial their reading record.
Kittens Maths Smarties day challenge!
The whole school had fun on the Wednesday before the Easter holiday taking part in a Maths smarties day! All the classes had to complete challenges by using smarties to do Maths.
Kittens class did lots of counting, sharing, sorting, measuring and adding using our smarties. We were allowed to eat half after we had finished our challenges! We decided that it was a really fun engaging way to learn maths.
Thanks to everyone who made Our castle day such a fantastic learning experience. The children looked brilliant and had so much fun making, building, doing, singing, dancing and acting! Finished off with a delicious Banquet!
